SUMMARY:Summer Series #1: Stonefire Band and Just Chuck
DESCRIPTION:Our Summer Series\, featuring local talent\, returns to Heritage Hall Theatre in 2024!  Our Summer Series #1 event for 2024 will feature the Stone Fire Band and Just Chuck. \nSTONEFIRE BAND\nThe Stonefire Band brings traditional country\, today’s country\, and classic rock music to the stage with its four-piece ensemble of talented local musicians Jason Gordon on drums\, lead guitarist Brian McLeery\, lead vocalist Mandy Leigh\, and bassist Steve Little. \nEach band member comes from a different background: \nMandy knew that she wanted to play and sing for people since she was in high school. She has performed in many musicals throughout the Tri-Cities area. \nJason fell in love with the drums while in the high school band.  He has gone on to play in several different bands in the Tri-Cities region. \nBrian was an all-state jazz guitarist for the state of Georgia in high school. He has been writing playing and performing around an active duty Army career in the Atlanta area since then and has recently moved to the Tri Cities area to do the same. \nSteve played in bands back in the ’60s but gave up music until he retired from the U.S. Army and the Post Office.  Steve has played in a few different bands in the area since 2020. \nJUST CHUCK\nCharles Skarsaune\, AKA Just Chuck\, has played guitar since he was a teenager in college and started playing in bands soon after.  Over time\, he realized that if he did all the singing and the guitar playing\, he wouldn’t have to deal with the cat herding necessary to keep a band together.  Hence\, “Just Chuck”. \nRaised a wanderer – North Dakota\, South America\, Michigan\, Georgia\, Kentucky\, and now Tennessee – he and his wife Jen put down roots ten years ago\, buying a small farm in Johnson County after visiting the mountains for decades.  He got his wandering genes from his father\, who moved to America from Norway as a teenager. \nFrom his parent’s record collections\, a steady diet of live concerts\, and the Columbia House Record (10 albums for a penny)\, a music fan his whole life\, he covers genres from rock to country to Motown to folk to bluegrass…..whatever he can carry off with one voice and one guitar. \nPerforming for people is the payoff – the most fun is when you can get people smiling\, dancing\, and singing along. \n\nCombined\, these two acts promise an evening of fun entertainment for our audience attending Summer Series #1! \nTicket Prices:  In Advance $10 | At the Door $12| Youth $5 \nSponsor:  The Tomahawk \nBUY TICKETS\nOnline ticket sales open on Saturday\, February 03\, 2024\, at 8:00 a.m. \nIf you have questions or want more information\, please contact our box office at 423-727-7444.

SUMMARY:Darin and Brooke Aldridge
DESCRIPTION:In The Beginning\nDarin and Brooke Aldridge crossed paths in the heart of their shared passion: music. Their journey began when their musical orbits intersected\, creating a harmonious collision. As fate would have it\, they discovered a mutual love for bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. Their deep-rooted connection\, both personally and musically\, blossomed into a partnership that now graces stages across the nation. \nPicture this: a chance encounter\, perhaps backstage at a festival or during an impromptu jam session. Their eyes met\, and the strings of their instruments resonated in perfect harmony. Darin’s instrumental prowess and Brooke’s captivating vocals found a common rhythm\, and the rest\, as they say\, is melodic history. \nFrom those early moments of shared chords and whispered harmonies\, Darin and Brooke embarked on a musical adventure. Their synergy was undeniable\, and soon they were writing songs together\, blending their voices into a seamless tapestry of sound. Whether under the spotlight or in the quiet corners of rehearsal rooms\, they honed their craft\, each note reinforcing their bond. \nAnd so\, with strings plucked and hearts aligned\, Darin and Brooke Aldridge stepped onto stages\, their voices weaving tales of love\, loss\, and life. Their performances became a testament to the magic that happens when two souls find their musical counterpart. Audiences were captivated\, swept away by the authenticity and emotion they shared. \nToday\nToday\, as they tour with their gifted band of musicians\, Darin and Brooke continue to create musical magic. Their story is one of artistry\, devotion\, and a harmonious destiny—a tale spun from the very fabric of bluegrass itself. \n\n\n\nDarin and Brooke Aldridge\, a remarkable husband-and-wife duo\, have soared to new heights in the music industry. Brooke\, a four-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Female Vocalist of the Year award\, and Darin\, a former IBMA Mentor of the Year\, are both gifted singers and multi-instrumentalists. Their impressive journey includes numerous nominations from the IBMA\, SPBGMA\, GMA Dove Awards\, and the Inspirational Country Music Association. In April 2023\, they were honored as “Bluegrass Artists of the Year” at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards. Additionally\, their hit song “Jordan”\, featuring Ricky Skaggs\, Mo Pitney\, and Mark Fain\, received nominations for Gospel Recording of the Year (IBMA) and Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year (GMA). \nTogether\, Darin and Brooke Aldridge create captivating bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music\, drawing inspiration from their deep roots in Avery County\, North Carolina. Their national recognition is evident through chart-topping success on Americana/Roots\, Sirius XM\, Bluegrass\, and Gospel charts. 🎶🌟 \n\n\n\n \nTicket Prices:  $25 in advance | $28 at the door | $10 Youth \nSponsor:  Johnson County Bank \nBUY TICKETS\nOnline ticket sales open on Saturday\, February 03\, 2024\, at 8:00 a.m. \nIf you have questions or want more information\, please contact our box office at 423-727-7444.

SUMMARY:The Kody Norris Show
DESCRIPTION:Whatever you do\, don’t call The Kody Norris Show ‘retro’. \nWhile the reigning SPBGMA Entertainers of the Year are known for the rhinestones that shine from their lapels and the fringe that hangs from their collars seem to conjure up memories of times gone by\, The Kody Norris Show is very much directing their gaze forever forward. \nNow\, more than ever before. \nThe talented group\, made up of frontman Kody Norris\, Josiah Tyree\, Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris\, and Charlie Lowman\, finds themselves with a growing legion of fans craving the comfort that comes from their retro look\, but equally craving dynamic instrumentation and thought-provoking lyrics – all of which can be heard throughout their epic new album Rhinestone Revival. \n“There is a whole chapter of country music that’s just kind of faded away\,” The Kody Norris Show’s frontman once said. “I believe The Kody Norris Show has been instrumental in bringing back some of that nostalgia and some of that classic look that country music and bluegrass music used to have.” \nThe foundations of the electrifying four-piece band can be found within the roots of Kody Norris himself\, a once inquisitive youngster from Mountain City\, Tennessee who would spend hours sitting in the passenger seat of his Uncle Jack’s Chevrolet El Camino listening to the entirety of The Stanley Brothers 16 Greatest Hits tape\, wondering if he would ever be able to match the sweet harmonies coming through the speakers. \nIt was those very harmonies that Norris also would recognize wavering through the rafters of the Baptist church he attended as a kid. There was a bluegrass quartet that would play in the Free Will Baptist Church\, and soon Norris became infatuated with the music that could materialize from a banjo and a guitar. So\, at nine years old\, he picked up the mandolin. \nAnd he never put it down. \nIt was a similar love affair of music for Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris\, who started playing classical violin in the fourth grade\, but by the fifth grade\, she knew it wasn’t for her. Instead\, in a quest to differentiate herself from her musical counterparts in her grade school orchestra\, she took up the fiddle. She began playing the festival circuit alongside the likes of the legendary Larry Sparks and the Lonesome Ramblers and soon became one of the most dynamic females on those festival stages. \nIt was on that stage she eventually met her husband Kody\, who had already gone on to play alongside the likes of Ralph Stanley\, Ralph Stanley II\, and Joe Isaacs throughout his already impressive career. In 2017\, banjo extraordinaire Josiah Tyree signed on with The Kody Norris Show\, and soon his old-time clawhammer style fit right into the bluegrass style that the band was becoming known for across the country. And when bass player Charlie Lowman joined in on the fun\, armed with giddiness and love for the music that he plays that soon became infectious\, The Kody Norris Show as we now know it was complete. \nIt was musical magic at its finest. \nIt’s this easy-going nature that became downright illuminated on 2017’s When I Get the Money Made\, which was named Bluegrass Album of the Year by the National Traditional Country Music Association. The Kody Norris Show followed it up with 2019’s All Suited Up\, which debuted at #7 on the Billboard charts. Now playing over 100 dates a year across the country and around the world\, The Kody Norris Show has been part of the University of Chicago Folk Festival and is part of two weekly programs on the acclaimed RFD-TV’s network\, The Cumberland Highlanders Show and The Bluegrass Trail. \nBut with the release of Rhinestone Revival comes a feeling that listeners have just begun to witness The Kody Norris Show’s very own revival\, as the band finds themselves sprinkling their iconic rhinestones on a few different music genres to solidify their place on the musical landscape. \nAnd the fans can’t get enough. \nIt’s those fans that have raised The Kody Norris Show to the place in which they stand today\, a place where the four-piece\, multi-instrumentalist\, bluegrass band is quickly becoming four of the most epic entertainers of our time. Add that to the songwriting displayed on the Kody Norris-penned “Baltimore I’m Leaving\,” “Fiddler’s Rock\,” “Please Tell Me Why\,” and the infectious “Gotta Get My Baby Back” on Rhinestone Revival\, and there is no doubt that The Kody Norris Show is as current as ever. \nThey ain’t retro. They have something different. They have something uniquely theirs. They have something that makes them stand out. \n“We want people to know who we are\,” Norris once said. \nAnd they will. \nTicket Prices:  $20 in advance | $23 at the door | $10 Youth \nSponsors:  Adams Pharmacy | Mina P. Norfleet – Realtor \nBUY TICKETS\nOnline ticket sales open on Saturday\, February 03\, 2024\, at 8:00 a.m. \nIf you have questions or want more information\, please contact our box office at 423-727-7444.
