As part of this year’s Long Journey Home festival, Portraits of Home is an evening of authentic Appalachian storytelling and traditional music that celebrates the people, places, and memories that make Johnson County unique.

Through a collection of short stories and timeless songs performed by community members, you’ll experience the spirit of the mountains—from bean picking and tobacco farming to front porch music, family traditions, and the everyday moments that have shaped generations. This one-of-a-kind performance offers a glimpse into the rich culture and enduring spirit of our mountain home.
